Ruaridh McConnochie ready for England debut after false starts, says Jonny May

Jonny May claims England room-mate Ruaridh McConnochie is prepared for his Test debut after two previous false starts due to injuries.
Last month, hip and hamstring injuries saw McConnochie withdrawn from the starting XV on the eve of the home and off World Cup warm-up Tests against Wales, but the Bath wing is still poised to feature from Italy from Newcastle live on Sky Sports.
Eddie Jones will announce that his team for the final match of the build-up to Japan 2019 on Wednesday and will also be expected to mention Anthony Watson at full-back.
Occupying the wing that is opposite to sevens pro McConnochie, who won a silver medal is going to be the player whom he has been rooming in camp.
May said:”It has been rough for Ruaridh. Until we played with Wales he was upset about the Fridays. Apart from that he got on with it.
“The people around that you have an influence on you so for him to not mope around is a credit to him.
“That is probably one reason Eddie likes him. He is still adding to the team if he’s not playing.
“I’m really excited for him to get out on the pitch. It must have been difficult for him but he is ready. He’ll do exactly what he does After he gets out to the pitch.
“He is fit and he is strong. Perhaps that’s a sevens matter or perhaps that is just him. We have not done much contact stuff here however he breaks tackles because he is used to all those one-on-ones.
“I have advised him to’care for your self, be smart, don’t shove it’. If we wants a conversation I’ll help him the best I can. He’s here for a reasonwhy.
“He’s had a brilliant season with Bath, got expertise at an Olympic Games and he is a really wonderful guy. He’s going to do well”
